Pug Pharm’s Picnic™ supports innovative voter engagement tool

The inaugural launch of the groundbreaking new software platform Ethelo today is enabling British Columbians to voice their level of support for different policies that impact the province, from pipelines to safe injection sites to corporate taxes.

BC Mandate has been enabled by a unique social purpose partnership between three Vancouver-based entities: PartyX Progressive Democracy Society, the non-profit champions of the BC Mandate campaign, Evolition Decisions Inc., the technology steward of the Ethelo decision engine, and Pug Pharm Productions Inc., a technology leader in customer gamification, retention, and activation, who provided their Picnic communicate engagement engine to drive participation and retention.

“The website empowers British Columbians to learn about and vote on policy proposals on a convenient and social online platform. They are also empowered to realize that the internet will offer new ways for large groups to make important political decisions,” explains John Richardson, founder of PartyX. “The PartyX team is working to revitalize politics by making policies, issues and ideas as accessible as the online social networks we already know and love. We are proud to be facilitating the inaugural consultation using the Ethelo decision engine.”

“Since our launch in 2008, Pug Pharm has become a technology leader in building community culture through gameplay, and our Picnic™ product is well matched to accelerate the social purpose goals of the BC Mandate campaign,” says Steve Bocska, CEO of Pug Pharm. “We are pleased to be able to partner on this initiative to provide British Columbians with an online engagement process that is fun and approachable to all.”
